Does anyone know how to book an AMTRAK VACATION from Melb Australia or if there are agents for this?
I have seen some of the vacation packages via the 'amtrak vacations' site that i really like, but id like a lot more info, does anyone know where an agent that deals with amtrak is in melbourne? ive tried searching but am not having much luck for the actual vacation packages, only finding singular tickets or rail passes....

Have you tried talking with travel agents near you? They may or may not be aware of packages offered by Amtrak. You should be able to book a package that appeals to you right on the Amtrak website, however. Coming from Australia, you'd probably want to start in a West Coast city, unless you want to cross the US from east to west.
You might want to do a search on something like "traveling the US by train" to see whether you can find any guidebooks to help you decide which routes you might want to take. The train that goes up/down the Pacific Coast between Seattle and LA is supposed to a beautiful ride.
I looked a bit but could find nothing either. Have you ordered all the brochures available? They may help or contain more info.

Finally, have you tried to contact Amtrak directly either by phone ( expensive, i know) or via email?
